Are you a carer?
If you are a Carer it is important that you inform the surgery so we can update our records.
Who is a carer?
A Carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support.
Why do carers need help?
Many people who are supporting someone do not see themselves as a ‘carer’ but as relatives or friends. Caring for others can be complex and demanding, physically taxing and mentally draining. Carers often become so focused on the person they care for that they forget to look after themselves.
Newham Carers Network
As a Carer you can be a part of the Newham Carer’s Network and may be entitled to Carer’s Allowance Benefits, Short Breaks, and Access to Support Groups, Carer’s Discount Card and much more.
