Newham CCG have provided useful patient information and guidance through the below leaflets. There are local services available that you may not know exist and you can use these instead of going to see your doctor.
Once of the services that can be used instead of seeing your doctor is the Minor Ailments scheme. By visiting your pharmacy instead of your GP, you could save yourself time and trouble – no need to book an appointment, just walk in. Pharmacists can help recognise and treat many common illnesses. They can give advice and where appropriate, recommend over-the-counter medicines that could help clear up the problem and if they think you need to see a GP for your illness, they will advise you to do that.
